I was born in Tiel, Holland, and immigrated to Canada with my family in 1966, when I was one year old. Sworn in as a proud Canadian citizen in 1975, my Canadian Citizenship papers state that I’m four foot seven inches tall! I speak Dutch, English and French, although my French is somewhat rusty. My passions include helping students, campaigning for social change, teaching English, coaching Improv and all things theatrical. I have been teaching English and Drama at Hunting Hills High School since 1994, and coaching Improv since 2000. In 2016 I became the Safe Contact for our school, and I love my work as an ally and staff liaison with the Queer Straight Alliance.
I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a B.Ed., majoring in English and minoring in Drama. I am the proud parent of two children, and we love to garden and travel together. I am proud to be a part of the Hunting Hills family, and I am honoured to be the Advanced Placement coordinator and one of the Learning Assistant Teachers on our Student Support Team.
