Grade Nine Prepare

Prepare allows students to work with teachers for 35 minutes each day to concentrate on an area of their learning development. This is flexible time that is created to meet the needs of the students either individually or as a group.  Students may require academic assistance, career guidance, health and wellness consultation or emotional support.

Students can also use Prepare during school hours to free up time after school for other activities.

Approximately thirty students will be connected with six teachers from various curriculum departments in the school. During Prepare, teachers will be available to support students learning by removing barriers that may be interfering with academic performance. Students may require support in any of the following areas:

  • Tutoring
  • Social and Emotional skills
  • Healthy Living
  • Literacy Development
  • Organization and Time Management

By keeping the class and the teachers consistent throughout the year, students will be able to gain a sense of connection and support.  Prepare is one program that is being implemented to establishing a caring supportive school environment with hopes to improve academic attitudes, motivation, engagement and achievement.
